IMPORTANT NOTE: Airflow Direction and IP Rating on Zanardo Ventilation Units
All panel builders are reminded that the correct installation of Zanardo ventilation units requires the airflow to be configured in extraction mode (air is drawn from inside the enclosure and pushed outwards).
Should you decide to reverse the airflow to achieve positive pressure ventilation — i.e., turning the fan inwards to blow air and pressurize the enclosure — the ventilation unit's original IP protection rating will be completely lost.
Why does this happen? The louver system and the design of the external filter are engineered to repel water and dust only when the airflow pushes outwards or under standard static conditions. Reversing the airflow direction (positive pressure ventilation) creates a vacuum on the outside that risks "sucking" moisture and particles into the enclosure, nullifying the effectiveness of the IP protection.
⚠️ Recommendation: If your application strictly requires positive pressure ventilation, we invite you to contact our technical department prior to assembly to evaluate the solutions or additional filters necessary to safeguard the enclosure's sealing.
